One of the things we love about this community is the way mates look out for each other.  That’s why, as ‘Your Mates in Maitland’, we decided back in 2007 that it was time we gave something back.  Inspired by Maitland’s community spirit, we set up our ‘Mates in Action’ initiative, which has so far raised $140,900 for local organisations.

The way it works is simple.  Whenever a customer purchases a vehicle from Highways, ‘Mates in Action’ donates $100 on their behalf to one of twenty community organisations.  These include Lions Club of East Maitland, Maitland Meals on Wheels, Maitland Cancer Appeal Committee, Hunter RSPCA Shelter, Telarah Public School, Salvation Army and Maitland Hospital.  We’re also open to customer suggestions for alternative charities and are happy to make the donation in your name, or keep it anonymous if you prefer.

So next time you’re looking for a new or used car at Highways, have a think about which organisation in Maitland you’d like to help.  That’s Mates in Action.
